ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (India) Signs MoU with Telangana Government for Investments of Up to INR 3,500 Crore

Mumbai and New Delhi, India, 21 January 2025 In a reaffirmation of Telangana’s status as a global technology hub, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (India) (STT GDC India), a leading provider of data centre solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana to establish a state-of-the-art data centre campus on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The MoU was signed in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri Revanth Reddy; IT Minister, Shri DS Babu; Special Chief Secretary, Shri Jayesh Ranjan; TGIIC MD, Shri Vishnu Vardhan Reddy; and Mr. Bruno Lopez, President and Group CEO of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), at the STT GDC headquarters in Singapore. 

 

The upcoming campus will feature cutting-edge technologies, with targeted capacities of up to 100 MW, ample scalability for future growth and AI-ready capabilities, making it one of the largest data centre projects in the region. With an investment of up to INR 3,500 crore, the project reaffirms STT GDC India’s commitment to supporting India’s digital transformation and highlights Telangana’s position as a preferred destination for global technology infrastructure and as an upcoming AI infrastructure hub.

STT GDC India’s expansion in Telangana is part of its broader vision to achieve a design capacity of 1 GW across India in this decade, with a decadal investment outlook of approximately USD 3.2 billion. The company currently operates a data centre in HITEC City, Hyderabad, and this new campus will further solidify its presence in the region.
