VIRTUS Data Centres VIRTUS Data Centres, a subsidiary of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, is London’s leading carrier-neutral data centre provider that builds and operates the UK’s most efficient facilities which underpin the UK’s digital economy, with an expansion pipeline to also support mainland Europe. MILAN1 is VIRTUS’ first facility in Italy, one of the fastest-growing markets in EMEA, and represents a key milestone in its European expansion strategy. With the capacity to deliver 42MW of grid power, the site will provide ample capacity to support hyperscalers, enterprises and service providers as digital infrastructure demands in Europe continue to grow. MILAN1 is strategically located in Cornaredo, 4KM from the Milan west cluster. It will be developed by repurposing an existing 71,000 sqm brownfield site which has zoning in place for a 44,000 sqm facility, minimising environmental impact. Consistent with VIRTUS’ commitment to sustainability, the project will incorporate best practices to reduce environmental impact, including energy-efficient designs, access to renewable power, waste reduction measures and responsible water usage. The facility is designed to support the increasing requirements of AI workloads, hyperscale environments and high-performance computing, while ensuring operational efficiency. It is expected to be Ready for Service in 2027. LEARN MORE Data centres in Italy 1 IT load (MW) 42 *Data centre figures include sites under development and held for further development.
