SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING AND MANAGING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS IN A DATA CENTRE

 

Our patented system revolutionises environmental monitoring in data centres. It comprises of a thermal coat embedded with a grid of various types of Wi-Fi sensors, including temperature, relative humidity (RH), and corrosion-sensing capabilities.

 

Additionally, the system includes a thermal mapping reader in the form of hand gloves and a safety helmet equipped with integrated thermal cameras. These components are connected via a common controller and a thermal coat/jacket docking station (charging station in a cage area).

 

 

How does this innovation benefit STT GDC India’s operations & the data centre industry:

 

Enhanced Monitoring: Shift Engineers / Technicians  can now take periodic environmental readings and measurements more efficiently. Our system triggers alarms on a timely basis, ensuring that every aisle is visited, and readings are taken. Upon completing a full cycle of the data centre floor walkthrough, the system records the visit and confirms it. Any deviation from standard readings triggers alarms, providing an additional layer of control.

 

Integration Capabilities: Our system seamlessly integrates with our existing IBMS (Integrated Building Management System) to provide comprehensive alarms and alerts.

 

Improved Efficiency: Shift managers and technicians now wear the thermal coat, safety helmet cum thermal camera, and hand gloves from the docking station when entering the data centre hall. The layout mapping (an automatic part of our system) directs them to conduct the walkthrough of the data centre and technical areas. Any temperature, RH, or corrosion issues are indicated during the walkthrough. Technicians and shift managers can address these issues immediately, ensuring proactive maintenance.

 

Automated Reporting: All walkthrough readings are automatically captured by the thermal coat, eliminating the need for manual recordings. Reports can be generated at any given time, providing real-time insights into the environmental conditions.

 

Proactive Monitoring: Our system helps eliminate monitoring and measurement gaps by proactively identifying and addressing issues. It also allows us to monitor shift duty performance effectively.

 

AI Compatibility: Our system's algorithm is AI-compatible, allowing for seamless integration with AI systems.
