Director, Global Accounts

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Director, Global Accounts, you will be responsible for managing strategic relationships with top hyperscalers and cloud service providers across the JAPAC (Japan, Asia-Pacific) region. In this individual contributor role, you will require to have a deep understanding of the data centre and cloud ecosystem, strong sales acumen, and the ability to coordinate and drive business with both customer regional teams as well as STT GDC’s country sales teams to secure large-scale deals. Your key duties and responsibilities will include:

Account Management & Growth

  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with key decision-makers at top hyperscalers and cloud service providers.
  • Drive long-term strategic partnerships to expand STT GDC's presence and revenue share.

Sales & Business Development

  • Own and drive the overall sales strategy for assigned global accounts in the JAPAC region.
  • Develop and carry out a detailed account strategy to surpass business goals.
  • Identify, qualify, and close large-scale data center deals by collaborating with customer regional teams.
  • Work closely with STT GDC country sales teams to ensure a coordinated approach to account strategy, deal execution, and service delivery.
  • Guide the negotiation of contract terms, service descriptions, and SLA documentation to satisfy both client and company requirements.
  • Focus on contract management for strategic accounts w.r.t billing, collections, service level agreements, and resolving outstanding issues.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams including operations, finance, legal, and product to align offerings with customer requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of contracts and service delivery.
  • Prepare and Lead all Customer QBR sessions for the APAC region.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Stay updated on market trends, customer expansion plans, and competitive activities in the data center space.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to enhance STT GDC's market positioning.
  • Provide Customer Demand insights (new market interest, capacity purchases, competitive intelligence, etc.) and feedback to management and in-country teams to influence wider organizational strategies.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in enterprise sales, global account management, or business development within the data center, cloud, or technology industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the requirements of hyperscaler and cloud service providers as well as an understanding of data center operations, and the broader IT infrastructure ecosystem.
  • Proven track record of securing multi-million-dollar deals and achieving sales targets in the JAPAC region.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with senior executives, procurement teams, and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work across multiple geographies, cultures, and internal teams to drive a cohesive sales strategy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions effectively.
  • The capacity to manage various stakeholders efficiently in a dynamic environment.
  • An independent and proactive individual who is adaptable, with a strong sense of commitment.
  • Openness to travel as needed for the role.
